Johnny Bruce Harper, 81, of Shirley was born July 15, 1935 to the late Benton and Mary (Ramsey) Harper in Shirley, Arkansas and passed from this life on November 14, 2016 at his home in Shirley.
Mr. Harper was a beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was well known and loved in the community, and was a right-of-way supervisor for Arkansas Electric Company having served the company for 33 years. Johnny was a Christian and attended the Shirley Community Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one son-in-law, Ricky Bane, three sisters-in-law; Ann Brown, Lou Ragsdale, Ollie Harper, two brothers-in-law; Kenneth Ragsdale, John Clark, Jr and one nephew, Matthew Clark.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years, JoNan of the home, one son, Shane Harper (Ashley) of Shirley, three daughters; Susan Evans (John) of Shirley, Kelly Leonard (Billy) of Bee Branch, Sandra Berry (Brian) of Shirley, eight grandchildren; Lindsey Sutterfield (Matt), Lauren Bane, Benton Berry, Graysen Berry, Blair Berry, Chase Parks, Mollie Leonard, Creed Leonard, one great grandchild, Madalynn Sutterfield, two brothers; Gerald Harper of Shirley, Darrel Harper (Martha) of Sherwood, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be from 6 pm - 8 pm on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at the Roller-McNutt Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at the Shirley Community Church with Brother Bobby Ward and Brother Eddie Ragsdale officiating. Interment will follow at Weaver Cemetery.
