Gary Glenn Kuykendall

of Conway, AR

December 27, 1943 - November 11, 2016

Gary Glenn Kuykendall, age 72, entered the presence of his Savior on Friday, November 11, 2016, in Conway, Arkansas. He was born in Richmond, California, on December 27, 1943, to Lloyd and Nellie (Whitehead) Kuykendall.

He married the love of his life, Nancy, in Martinez, California, on July 11, 1964. Together, they spent a lifetime in ministry, pastoring for 40 years. In 2009, due to declining health, Gary retired from his passion of serving others. Although he no longer pastored, his ministry continued on as one of intercession. To all who knew him, he was the voice of encouragement and faith, and there is no doubt he knew how to reach the throne of God. His kindness, his guidance, and his direction will be a void to us all. It is the heritage...the legacy...that he leaves behind that will continue on as a sure foundation he helped establish in our hearts.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents. In addition to his wife Nancy of 52 years, he is survived by his three children: Tammy Morrison and her husband, Cory of Austin, Texas; Cary and his wife, Rhonda of Conway, Arkansas; and Tim and his wife, Heather of Tacoma, Washington. He leaves behind twelve grandkids: Ashleigh, Brett, Greg, Liz, Matthew, Veronica, Kellie, Courtney, Katie, Connor, Ridge, and Lindsay. Papa also leaves behind six great-grandbabies who adored him. He is also survived by his two brothers, Wendall and Weanon and by two sisters, Junell and Drenee. He will forever hold a special place in the hearts of countless lives.

Although our hearts are aching, we know he is free from suffering and the pain he endured. We rejoice knowing he is celebrating with Jesus and so many loved ones gone on before.

A celebration of life memorial will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., at Rock Solid Church, 550 8th Ave., Conway, Arkansas.

We are so sorry to hear of Gary's passing but we know he's with the Savior he loved and served so many years. I (Doug) have many good memories of the years in California that we (with Betty) spent together eating popcorn and drinking Pepsi with Bob and Dorothy. Remembering preaching for him in Auburn and French Camp. Even though our lives took directions it was a blessing being able to connect again in Conway in our later years. I'm thankful he came to preach for me at Bradford. That's where I (Mary Jane) come in. You were friends of the heart right from the start. It was a joy to get to know you both. I wish we had been able to spend more time together. Our prayers are with you Nancy, and your family. May God wrap His arms around you all and comfort you.
