Billy J. Martin, 79 of Vilonia passed away on November 1, 2016.
Bill was born on Saturday, November 7, 1936 in Bauxite, Arkansas to Benjamin and Sadie Martin.
Bill was a Christian and a dedicated family man. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and then became a successful small business owner for over 25 years. Bill lived with the utmost conviction and moral clarity, and he served others in any way possible. He was an enthusiastic fan of musical artist Mickey Newbury. He always had a joke to tell and loved to fish. He was tough but gentle, truly a man among men. One of a kind. He will be greatly missed by many.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, Craig Martin (son), Fred and Ralph Martin (brothers) and Cora Hankin (sister).
He is survived by one son, Michael Martin of Texas; three grandchildren, Colton Martin, Ferrell Martin and Audrey Martin; two great grandchildren, Asher Martin and Hailey Martin; four sisters, Mary Rhea of Malvern, Leila Strickland of Benton, Linda Strickland of Florida, Kathy Dietrich of Tennessee; four brothers, Jerry Martin of Vilonia, Ronnie Martin of Sherwood, Donnie Martin of North Carolina, James Lloyd Martin of Malvern and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will have a private service at a later date.
