Our beloved mother, Bennie Anne McGrew Dixon, age 99, of Lead Hill, joined her Heavenly Father Monday, October 10, 2016, while at home with her family by her side. She was born and raised the same area of Lead Hill September 24, 1917, to Benjamin Franklin and Jennie Stennett McGrew.
Ms. Bennie was a member of Monarch Tabernacle Church. She married Aubin Dixon in a double wedding in Lead Hill, March 14, 1936, and they celebrated 54 years together until his death in 1990. She raised her 11 children to know the Lord and was the mother of mothers who loved everyone. She enjoyed quilting, canning, gardening and just being with her family.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Aubin Dixon; her son, Albert; her daughter-in-law, Della Dixon; her grandson, Charley Dixon; and her six sisters and four brothers.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Billie Rogers of Lead Hill, Charley Dixon of Lead Hill, Johnny (Marie) Dixon of Lead Hill, Nadine (Kenny) Bartle of Harrison, Robert (Doris) Dixon of Bergman, Kennith (Brenda) Dixon of Lead Hill, Richard Dixon of Little Rock, Boyd (Cheryl) Dixon of Harrison, Loyd (Margaret) Dixon of San Antoine, Texas and Patsy (Steve) Burleson of Lead Hill, 23 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Wednesday at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.
Funeral service was Thursday, October 13, 2016, at Monarch Tabernacle Church, with Craig Rogers and Dustin Burleson officiating.
Interment was in Milum Cemetery in Lead Hill.
Pallbearers were her sons.
Honorary pallbearers were her grandsons, Steve Burleson and Kennith Bartle.
