Jimmy Von Kanel, 80, of Lexa, Arkansas passed away October 1, 2016. Jimmy was born September 11, 1936 to Otto Paul Von Kanel and Annie Mildred Trainer in Helena, Arkansas.
Jimmy is survived by one son, James F. Von Kanel, Jr. (Sandra) of West Helena, Arkansas; one daughter, Kaye Strickland of Walls, Mississippi; ten grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Katherine Waters (Russ) of Mayflower, Arkansas; two brothers, Otto Paul Von Kanel II of Greers Ferry, Arkansas and Ervin R. Von Kanel (Jerry) of Barton, Arkansas. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Laura Lee Von Kanel.
Services will be Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 10:00 A. M. at Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Central Cemetery in Lexa, Arkansas. Visitation is Monday, October 3, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 P. M. at Roller-Citizens Chapel, 508 Plaza Street, West Helena, Arkansas (870)572-2571.
I knew Jimmy for many years and always thought he was a great person. My sympathy and prayers for his family.

Sorry to hear of Mr. Jimmy passing away, he was a good Christian Man, whom I had much respect for, will be Praying for the Family. I know he Rests now with Ms Laura Lee.
