Bertha L. Cornett Gray, 92, of Melrose, Arkansas died Monday, September 19, 2016, at Mountain Meadows.

Born September 12, 1924, in Melrose, she was the daughter of Lee Cornett and Laura Parsons Cornett.

She always was a hard worker and in her earlier years, she picked cotton and also traveled north to pick fruit. She retired after 18 years with White-Rodgers Manufacturing Company, and then continued working as a residential caregiver for 20 years. She was a member of Marcella Baptist Church in Marcella.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Katherine Gray; a grandson, Trevor Gray, a granddaughter, Lori Gray Lee and her husband, Andy, all of Melrose; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Loyd Gray, a daughter, Shirley Ann Gray; and a son, Leon Gray.

There will be a graveside service at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, September 22, 2016, at York Cemetery in Marcella with Bro. Billy Sutton officiating.

Visitation is from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Thursday at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home.

Arrangements are by Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
