Richard D. Flippo, age 72, a lifelong resident of Omaha, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2016, at Cox Health Center in Branson, Missouri. He was born June 30, 1944, at Omaha, Arkansas, the son of Sherman and Virgie Leo (Carden) Flippo. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, James and Norman Flippo.
Richard attended Burlington Baptist Church. He served in the U. S. Army Reserves. He was a farmer and also worked at Anchor Die Cast in the maintenance department. He was a member of the NRA and Mid-American Dairy Association.
Richard is survived by his wife of 53 years, Anna (Leatherman) Flippo, of the home; two daughters, Leia Flippo of St. Louis, Missouri and Luella Feeser of Omaha, Arkansas; his son and daughter-in-law, Rickey and Tammy Flippo of Ashville, New York; five grandchildren, Courtney, Wyatt, Daniel, Brenden and Sara; one great-granddaughter, Kennedy; four sisters, Verla, Susie, Winnie and Clyda; and three brothers, Marion, Walt and Alan.
Visitation was Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.
Funeral service was Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at Burlington Baptist Church with Pastor Tom Wood officiating.
Burial was in the Gass Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Leonard Bryant, Hal Bryant, Danny Edwards, Scott Edwards, Leroy Edwards and Richard Blevins.
Honorary pallbearers were Darwin Cash and Gerald Pearson.
Anna, Was so sorry to hear about Richard. It doesn't seem like over 50 years does it? He was a gentle good man who would help anyone he could. It isn't easy to do without people you love. Take care of yourself and family. Love you,
