Charles Ellington Johnston, age 92, of Elaine, Arkansas passed away Friday, August 26, 2016 in Forrest City. Mr. Johnston was born December 10, 1923 in Fordton, Alabama to the late William and Abigail Johnston. He was a member of Elaine Methodist Church. Mr. Johnston worked in sales at Delta Hardware and he owned the Kountry Kitchen restaurant in Elaine.

He is survived by one son, Eddie Johnston (Linda) of Elaine; one daughter, Judy Johnson of Southaven, Mississippi; four grandchildren, David Johnston, Stacy Johnston, Mary Kay Mora and Brooks Johnson; six great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; one sister, Robie Permenter of Vilonia; two brothers, Bob Johnston (Dorothy) of Elaine and Curtis Johnston (Kim)of Red Banks, Mississippi; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marilyn Laws Johnston; and six brothers, Alfred, Robert, Cletis, Clayton, Aaron and Hollis.

A graveside service for Charles Johnston will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Hughes Cemetery in Forrest City. The cemetery is next to Good Hope Presbyterian Church. Brother Luke Watson will officiate.

Service will be directed by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena, (870) 572-2571.

Judy and Eddie,
Sorry to hear of the loss of Uncle Charlie. He will truly be missed by everyone who knew him. I enjoyed him when in came in the Barber shop for a hair cut and all the fun times we had as kids when we were growing up. May God comfort the two of you during this time.

Eddie, Judy and all the grands,
I am so sorry to hear about sweet Charlie...He was one of the sweetest people I have known and an even better boss..I loved working for hm and Ms Marilyn all those years at the Kountry Kitchen...Lots of great memories...He will definitely be missed by those who knew and loved him....My thoughts and prayers are with you all...May God Bless You All....
