Dr. M. Carolyn Wilson

of Mountain Home, AR

July 20, 2016

M. Carolyn Wilson, M.D. passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at the age of 78 in Mountain Home, AR. Dr. Wilson was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to her mother Evelyn Thompson Wilson and her father Alfred R. Wilson on January 24, 1938.
Although she has no children of her own, she had a very large, loving family. She is survived by two nieces, Dawn Ashcraft of Mountain Home and Tammy Ashcraft and spouse Kristi Lawson of Ocoee, Tennessee; a great niece, Lillian Katherine Ashcraft-Cramer and husband Ryan A. Cramer; and a great-great nephew, Bentley R. Cramer.
With a strong Christian faith, Dr. Wilson had many accomplishments throughout her 78 years of life, as well as multiple career paths. As a farmer, a pilot, a professor, and a radiologist, she always put God first.
Dr. Wilson was well known in the area for her dedications and visions in the medical field, but most know her as being the first full-time Radiologist at Baxter Regional Medical Center and founding Hospice of the Ozarks in Mountain Home.
Memorial service for Dr. M. Carolyn Wilson will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 19, 2016 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Cotter, Arkansas with Reverend Jimmie Snow officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks or Wesley Calico Rock Prison Ministry.

Our thoughts are with the family over the loss of Dr. Carolyn. We are grateful for her vision and hard work to start an all volunteer hospice in the early years of the program. It was my honor to follow her and help lead and serve such a wonderful organization for 28 years.

Lillie Kate and family- I am at a lost for words over Carolyn's passing. I pray for comfort and peace for your family at this time. Jeremy Camp's song says it best- There will be a day with no more tears, no more pain, and no more fears
There will be a day when the burdens of this place, will be no more, we'll see Jesus face to face. I know from all our conversations, Carolyn is there and in that I find happiness and peace. I hope you will too.
