Richard Albert Sexton, 86, of Clarksville, Arkansas, stepped into his eternal home on Friday, July 8, 2016, from the Rogers Health and Rehab Facility of Rogers, Arkansas.
He was born on April 8, 1930, the son of Thyra Belle and Albert Sexton, both of whom preceded him in death.
He came to know Christ as his Savior at age 21 and served Him faithfully at Stillwell Bible Baptist Church where he was a charter member.
Richard was a self-educated man, with gifts in farming, horse training, welding, as well as being an accomplished mechanic of all types of equipment. He enjoyed life to the fullest, always with a ready smile, or joke, or a tease for his children and grandchildren.
He worked for Ford Tractor dealership for several years before he established his own mechanic shop, Sexton's Garage in 1970.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marion Eldarene Sexton, of Rogers Health and Rehab, two daughters, Sherri Rodgerson and husband, Raymond (Pete) of Jefferson City, MO, and Sonya Crow of Rogers, AR; seven grandchildren, Autumn Bear and husband Brian, of Blue Springs, MO, Christina Cowart and husband Carl Shelton of Eureka, CA, Aaron Rodgerson and wife Veronica of Kirksville, MO, Amber Musgrave and husband Andrew, of Meridan, ID, Tom Coward and wife Thao of Rogers, AR, Andrew Rodgerson and wife Crystal of Taylor's, SC, and Adam Rodgerson and wife Linda of Eagle River, AK, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, Courtney, Emeley, David, and Gentry Bear, Nai'a, Iana, Mahina, and Io Johnson, and Abelia Shelton, Daniel Rodgerson, Destiny, Andrew Jr., Makaila, Hannah, Alexa, Joseph, Grace, and Isaiah Musgrave, Owen, Eli, and Grant Rodgerson, and Kacy, Kelly, Sabrina, Taylen, Piper and Mylie Rodgerson; two great-great grandchildren, Kekai and Koda Johnson.
Richard had one brother, Lee Jack Sexton, deceased, and three sisters, Dorothy Minor, deceased, Laura Soard, and Carolyn Johnson both of Clarksville.
Funeral services will be held at Stillwell Bible Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. On Tuesday, July 12, 2016, in Clarksville, AR, with visitation from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor James Goodman. Interment will follow the service at the Mt. Airy Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
I always enjoyed visiting with Richard whenever I could, usually when he was working on my company truck, personal vehicles or just stopping for a few minutes as I was passing by.

He and his wonderful wife served a big part of my decision to follow Christ as a teenager. He was a blessing to our family.
