George Paul McClure, 78, a resident of Subiaco passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016, at Fort Smith.
He was born February 24, 1938, at Prairie View to the late Joseph and Lola Mae (McClure) Floren. George married Beverly Ann Trusty on November 4, 1961, at Midway. He worked as a farmer his entire life including dairy farming. George was of the Catholic faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Kremer; a granddaughter, Jessica Varnell and a great grandson, Jayden Varnell.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Beverly McClure of Subiaco; a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Marjorie McClure of Prairie View; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Thad Hampton of Paris and Lori and Mark Varnell of Midway; a brother, Johnny Floren of Paris; two sisters, Rosetta Spicer of Scranton and Brenda Schluterman of Prairie View; eleven grandchildren, Eric and Aaron McClure; Jason, Jeffrey and Jesse Varnell, Patrick, Brad, T.J. and Dakota Hampton and Justin and Jordan Varnell; twelve great grandsons and three great granddaughters.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at the Howard Cemetery near Midway with the Rev. Ricky White officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
