So sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in the words spoken at John 5:28,29
(28). "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice (29) and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment".
All who read this have one thing in common, their life was impacted in some way by knowing Havis Jacks and most of them loved him. I was one of those who loved him as a friend and co-worker but more as a brother.
Firefighters are a special group of people and Havis was the epitome of "special." No one could
out friend, out work, out play or out laugh him. At the beginning of a work day that began in a normal uneventful way you would see him at his desk watching you as you entered the room. You could tell his mind was working overtime on something real special just for you. The laughing that followed was at your expense and free to all who were observing. It was all in fun though and was just Havis being Havis.
Havis would do anything for you and he helped me greatly over the years. When I was on around the clock calls for fire investigations he would cover me on Sundays while I fulfilled my music directing duties at church. Not many people would have done that but he did it over and over and I greatly appreciated it.
Time won't allow me to relate the stories I have stored in my memory about Havis but they're good memories. The best memory by far is recently hearing him tell me he had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He told me that if he went first he would see me someday in heaven. I sure am looking forward to that day when we'll meet again.
To his loved ones, friends and to his special "one", I give you my most heartfelt sympathy and my prayer for God to sustain you through this time of great loss. If you truly want to see Havis again you need to make your arrangements through Jesus Christ.
We send our sincere condolences to Havis and family. He fought a tough battle and can now rest without suffering anymore.
Love, David C. Jacks, M.D. and family

Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family during this difficult time. We both had the honor of working with Captain Jacks while working at the Little Rock 911 Communications Center. He was a professional who maintained the very highest standards for his division. And he was an absolute joy to work with - one of the most compassionate people we have ever worked with as well as a humor that instantly put you at ease and made the stress of the job a little easier to handle. Rest in peace Sir.
Spread Your Wings and Fly My Dear Friend. You will truly be missed by many and we are better for knowing you. I will forever cherish the memories!

Peace wished for Havis..Good guy well thought of by all..
Havis was a wonderful human being! I met him when we were both in Jr. High School and I have always respected and revered the person he is. Blessings and prayers to family and those he held dear.
I grew up getting picked on by Havis when I would visit the Fire Marshal's office with my dad who was good friends and coworkers with him. I learned real quick I had to dish it back out or he'd just keep talking. Loved every minute of it! His sense of humor and smile always made my day, and he will be greatly missed. So very sorry for your loss. We are praying for you all.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this sad time.

Capt. Jacks was the first person from the LRD that I met after completing the hiring process. Him and Capt. Witt came to my house to interview me prior to Chief White offering me employment with the department. A memory I'll never forget, this was before GPS and google maps was around and I lived way back off of the beaten path, Capt. Jacks called my house three different times to ask for directions and they still could not find me. I told him to stay where he was and I went to them, we met in the parking lot of a small service station on the side of Highway 64 close to Vilonia and that's were my interview was conducted.
