Nina Ruth Jennings

of Winchester, VA

September 23, 1932 - April 27, 2016

Nina Ruth Jennings 83 0f Luray, Virginia passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016 in Winchester, Virginia. She was born on September 23, 1932 in Clinton, Arkansas to Irvin and Molena (Flory) Graddy.

Nina married Ernest Dale Jennings on December 24, 1951 he passed away March 23, 2013. She worked as a manager in Peoples Pharmacy in VA Beach, Virginia, and then on to Clinton Healthmart in Clinton, Arkansas. Once retired her and her husband traveled all over the United States. She enjoyed cooking and watching the cooking network for new ideas to try! Because of health issues she ended up moving in with her daughter and family. She started Dialysis a few years ago and loved (her girls) as she called the nurses there, who lovingly took care of her every Monday, Wednesday and Friday! We have these girls and her team of doctors to thank for the many extra years they added to her life! And last but certainly not least her always doting and loving companion, Chico Gonzales Jennings, her very spoiled Chihuahua. Who will miss her terribly.

She is preceded in death by her husband Ernest Dale Jennings her parents Irvin and Molena (Flory) Graddy, sister Bethel Lea ''Peggy'' Stubblefield and an infant sister Imogene Graddy.

Nina is survived by her daughter Susette L (Jennings) and husband Rodney Rooks of Luray, Virginia and son Colonel Kenneth Z. and wife Shannon Jennings of New Hampshire, grandchildren Grayson Jennings, Landon Jennings, Malia Jennings, Skylar Lynch, Brooklynn Rooks, Caley Rooks and Madison Rooks.

I am so sorry to hear about Nina. I just found it on the website. Did not know till this moment. I thought so much of Nina and Ernest. That was the fun years of my life working with her. She was always making me laugh. I was glad when she called me from Virginia. We had a nice visit on the phone. I surly would have come to the service had I known. Love you Sue. My prayers of comfort are to you and Kenneth and family.

I was so fortunate to have known Nina and Ernest, I always loved when they both came into my salon. They were both there for me during some very hard times in my life. Having lost my own parents, this wonderful couple was always so supportive and caring and Ernest could always put a smile on your face with his "acting up". I can't say enough about what special people Nina and Ernest were. Nina was a very special lady. I am so very sorry for the loss of your dear mother and grandmother. What I can tell you is how very much she loved all of you. I loved hearing about you children and grandchildren and looking at the pictures she shared with me. Yes she was a very proud mother and grandmother. No one can ever replace that special place in my heart that Nina filled. May God's love and peace be with each one of you.

So sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in the
words spoken at John 5:28,29 "(28).Do not be amazed
at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the
memorial tombs will hear his voice (29). and come out,
those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and
those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment."
