Richard Frank Etzkorn Sr., 93 of Subiaco, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 in Subiaco. He was born on October 21, 1922 in Subiaco to his parents John and Freda (Werner) Etzkorn. Richard was a United States Army Veteran having served in WWII and the Korean War. He was a retired carpenter and stone mason having done a lot of the rock work at St. Benedict Catholic Church where he was a long time member of the church and men's society. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal and Arkansas Razorback Fan.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Freda (Werner) Etzkorn; his wife of 64 years Gertrude Ann (Schluterman) Etzkorn; three brothers, Paul Etzkorn, Fred Etzkorn and Robert Etzkorn and two great-granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Hope Wyatt.

He is survived by his four daughters, Debby Etzkorn of Fort Smith, Nita Wyatt and husband Phillip of Clarksville, Diane Gray and husband Dennis of Altus and Vivian Fox and husband Larry of Paris; five sons, Pat Etzkorn and wife Lisa of Subiaco, John Etzkorn and wife Candy of Subiaco, Henry Etzkorn and wife Anna of Subiaco, Rick Etzkorn and wife Susan of Fort Smith and Matt Etzkorn of Subiaco; twenty grandchildren and twenty eight great-grandchildren.

Rosary service will be held at 7:45 p.m., on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Subiaco.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, May 2, 2016 at St. Benedict Catholic Church officiated by Fr. Mark Stengel O.S.B.. Burial will follow in St. Benedict Catholic Cemetery with Military Honors under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers will be his granddaughters and grandsons.

Your father was a remarkable man. I can remember as a child going to a, I think it was a goat roast, with so many people in attendance.
I especially admired him after his amputations. What courage it must have taken to make that decision in the first place. Then after he received his prosthetics he continued to get out and about.
I will miss seeing him about but will always remember him for his strength, courage, and determination.
