of Bee Branch, AR
December 29, 1926 - April 4, 2016
Earl Perkins was born to Millard and Hazel (McClanahan) Perkins on December 29, 1926 and passed from this life on April 4, 2016.
Earl started early in life in the Air Force and went on to marry and begin his family. He was an honest man who took pride in caring for his family. Earl worked hard to provide for them. He worked at RockTen in a box factory and also farmed to make ends meet. Earl was a simple man from a generation that couldn't be beaten. His word or handshake was worth more than any contract today. Earl was honest, trustworthy and a good family man. He was a strong willed person who spoke his mind, and he will be missed by all who knew him. Although Earl never regularly attended church, he loved the Lord with all his heart. He had no doubt where his forever home would be.
Earl was an avid sports fan '''' any sport, but especially basketball. He always loved the Cincinnati Reds and thought Michael Jordan and LaBron James were exceptional players.
Earl's family meant the world to him. He rarely missed kid's or grandkid's ball games. They always knew granddad would be there to cheer them on. He always loved going to the livestock barns, the Cleburn County Sale Barn at Heber Springs was his favorite. As long as he was able, you could find him there each Monday during the sale.
Earl's precious wife, Ruth, passed in December, 1986. He tried hard after that to be everything to his kids and grandkids. He always remembered birthdays and holidays.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ruth, and two brothers, Janis Perkins and Morris Perkins.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters; Sylvia Eades (Robert), Mary Rowlett (Joe), his dear friend, Miss Anne Keys, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Ozark Health and Rehabilitation Center and Arkansas Hospice. Their care and concern helped make a difficult time a bit easier.
Visitation will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at the Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Clinton, Arkansas. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm on Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Bee Branch Cemetery in Bee Branch, Arkansas.

Sylvia & Mary, So sorry to hear of your dad's passing. Recently dad and I had visited with him at the nursing home. My granny is a resident there and when we learned of your dad being there also my dad wanted to go see him. Dad and Earl had a nice visit reflecting on all the times Earl had visited him at the garage in Damascus. It was good to see him and to hear him bragging about you two girls and how y'all had grown up to make him proud. I am grateful for all the rides to ball games he provided me. I know he will be greatly missed. Dad and I both are having health issues this week, I broke my leg and dad is scheduled for tests tomorrow so we are unable to attend the service. God bless your family...Christy & Billy Paul Rogers
