Paul Jackson Duren, 73, of Mountain View, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Arkansas. Paul was born on January 25, 1943 to the late Andrew Jackson and Geneva Agnes (Shanks) Duren in Heber Springs, Arkansas. Paul was a farmer and carpenter and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Paul is survived by many extended family and friends, as well as very special friends Melissa and Gene Strayer and family who were there for him until his passing.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Jackson and Geneva Agnes (Shanks) Duren.
A visitation will take place on Saturday, April 2, 2016, from 6-8PM at Roller Crouch Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral services will take place on Sunday, April 3, 2016, 2:00 PM also at Roller Crouch Chapel with Brothers Daryl Pitts and Devin Birdsong officiating. Interment will be at Blue Mountain Cemetery in Timbo, Arkansas.
Pallbearers are Gene Strayer, Tracy Verser, Briston Gould, Sampson Davis, Larry Moody, and Craig Rushing. Honorary pallbearers are Willie Morgan, O.D. Carter, Jim Bailey, Ira Ring, and Floyd Davis.
