of Marianna, AR
November 13, 1940 - January 26, 2016
Julia Daggett Mixon passed away at her home in Marianna on January 26th, 2016, surrounded by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Cotter Mixon. She is survived by her oldest son Paul (Tonya) of Jonesboro, Arkansas, her daughter Dale Bonin (Brett) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and her youngest son Bill of Pine, Colorado. She also leaves behind her four wonderful grandchildren, Taylor Mixon of Nashville, Tennessee, Jack Mixon of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Blakeley Bonin of Sneads Ferry, North Carolina, and Brittany Bonin of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, who were the joy of her life.
We would like to let you know that Julia's work here is done. Her new mission will take her to a heavenly place where she will be dancing and socializing and doing all of her favorite things. There will be a sweet reunion with Cotter and her family and friends that she hasn't seen in a long time. The food and wine are delicious and she can indulge to her heart's content without gaining an ounce. Music, love and laughter are guaranteed there.
We want to let her know that she has done a great job. She leaves behind a wonderful family who will always love her. We will always remember her smile, her warmth, her energy, her love for life, family and friends. She has touched the lives of so many people with her kind and generous spirit. When you think of Julia, please remember her gathered around her kitchen table with close friends and family, or cheering in the stands and urging on her favorite horse, or singing along with Paul's band in some honky tonk, or relaxing on the deck with her grandkids in the Smokey Mountains she loved so much. Her passing has left a huge hole in all of our hearts and she will be missed every day for the rest of our lives.
Arrangements: Life celebration will begin at 2:00 on Saturday, February 6th at St. Andrews Episcopal Church. The internment will be immediately following the service. The reception will be at Julia's house after the burial. We invite you to join us to help us celebrate her life. Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, Marianna (870) 295-2528 has charge of arrangements. Julia was a lovely lady. She will be missed dearly! I'm thankful for all of the times I was able to spend with her at her home. She treated me as one of her own. Heaven has gained a jewel of a lady!
We have been praying for all of you since we found out .your mother was a different kind of person always concerned about other people and not herself.
Dale, Paul and Bill,
Your mother was a wonderful person who always welcomed us with open arms, a big smile and a hug!! She lived a beautiful life!! I wish that we could be there for her service and for the celebration of her life. Y'all are in our thoughts and prayers. Take care.

Miss Julia's wonderful, sweet obituary I just read made me smile). I'd like to add a few more things, though, if I may: Not only did "Miss Julia" absolutely adore her three children & support their every adventure and endeavor, but she also loved and supported their friends, of whom I'm honored to be just one. She was always genuine, understanding, non-judgemental, funny, generous, and was, to me, a loyal confidante. She, literally, embodied the words grace and class. But if I had to pick just one adjective to describe Miss Julia (and this is really gonna date me), it would be that she was "cool". A cool mother, a cool friend, and all-in-all a cool person. If this world had more people in it like Miss Julia, it would be a much, much better place. Rest in peace Miss Julia, tell Mr. Kotter "Hey", and know that you'll be missed by more people than you'd probably ever have imagined.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Julia embodied the spiritual gift of Hospitality that the Bible speaks about....a daughter, wife, mom, grandma, neighbor and friend to all. She will be missed but her spirit lives on in all the lives she touched.

We are saddened by the passing of Ms. Julia. Please know that the Beasley family has the Mixon family in their thoughts and prayers.
She will be missed. You have my sympathy.
Paul and Dale,
I am so sorry to hear about your mother. We all spent so many hours at your house, she was like a mother to many of us and always provided good counsel during our teenage years. We are very grateful for that.
We'll be thinking of you during this time.

It's been many years since I last saw Miss Julia but it saddens my heart to hear of her passing. Having lost my parents, I understand the pain the family is going through. Have faith because she is in a better place.
Julia was such a lovely lady. Have fond memories of s[ending time in her home, sharing a glass of wine and laughter. She was a wonderful cook and a generous hostess. She will definitely be missed. Know she is now rejoicing in Heaven with those who went before her. My condolences to the family.
