Julia Amado, age 94, of Harrison, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2016, at Newton County Nursing Home in Jasper, Arkansas. Mrs. Amado was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Manuel Amado; 6 sisters; and a brother.
Julia moved to Harrison to live with her daughter, Betty Amado. She loved crafts, was a great seamstress, and a wonderful cook making the best tamales ever. In California she belonged to the VFW and Eagles where she was Chaplin.
Mrs. Amado is survived by her daughter, Betty Amado, of Harrison, Arkansas, and 2 daughters from California; 7 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, January 25, 2016, at Mary Mother of God Catholic Church.
Burial will be held in Arizona at a later date.
She cracked my up: the butt lights while sitting on the front porch in Cotter (Betty and Connie should remember that), then there was the visit (Oxnard) when her and Manual found the cookies, that were hidden, and they laughed and played cards all day. Good with the bad she always cracked me up.
