Inez Guthrie Hill, 71 of Mayflower, AR, beloved mother, Gran, sister and aunt went to be with her heavenly father Monday, December 7th, 2015. She was born to Everett W. Guthrie and Ruby DeJarnette Guthrie in Helena, AR. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Billy W. Hill. Survived by daughter Cheryl (Lance) Talkington of Puerto Rico, and son Jeff Hill of Greenbrier, AR. and two sisters, Rosalie Guthrie Marks of Lake City, FL. and Donna (Sam) Guthrie Slaughter of Greenbrier, AR. as well as one brother, Everett W. (Reba) Guthrie Jr. of Santa Fe, TN and her 5 grandchildren: Dawn and Katie Talkington and Bree, Justin, and Jason Hill.
Her love for flowers and floral arrangements led to a career as a florist. She loved her children and her grandchildren with all her heart, driving many miles to see her grandchildren in sporting events, band concerts, and dance recitals. She lived her life serving others and her Lord Jesus Christ, serving in many ways at her Church from playing the piano to teaching Sunday School for 40+ years.
A visitation will be held Friday, December 11th at 9:00AM 10:30AM with a funeral service to follow at 10:30AM at First Baptist Church in Mayflower, AR. Graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena at 3:30pm on Friday. Serving as pallbearers will be Terry Hill, Greg Hill, Doug Hill, Todd Slaughter, Dustin Slaughter, Brandon Slaughter, and Scott Slaughter.

We were so sad to hear of Inez' sudden passing. It was obvious from her Facebook posts that she was focused on God and dong His will. What a wonderful legacy she leaves! May God comfort all of you family members with sweet memories and knowledge of where she is now. I'm sorry that we didn't get to know Inez until a few years ago, even though she was related to my husband and I was friends with her sister, Rosalie. You have been in my prayers. Barbara Frazier

Inez was taken from us too soon. Our loss here on Earth but God's gain in Heaven. She was an inspiritation to us all. She always found good even in the worst of times. She missed Bill so much and now she can be happy beside him again. My prayers are for your family during this time.

Rosalee and Dub. So sorry to learn of your dear sister's death. What I always loved about her was that she was always so upbeat and energetic. She had that "happy gene," kind of like Fern King and Curtis Pettie and some others I could name. Know you will miss her.
