Elvonna "Peggy" Taylor

of Mountain View, AR

July 8, 1933 - November 19, 2015

Elvonna Peggy Taylor (82) went to be with her Lord Jesus on November 19, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. She passed away at home in the presence of her husband and family members.

Peggy was the loving wife of Ronald Taylor to whom she was married for 64 years. She was born in Macedonia, IA on July 8th, 1933 to Merlin and Velma Tooley. She graduated from North High School in Omaha, NE in 1951. She was married to Ron on Oct. 27th, 1951, also in Omaha.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Howard Tooley, and her son-in-law, Douglas Arnold.

She is survived by her son, John Taylor (Martha) of Topeka, KS; daughter Nancy Seymour (Rob) of Mogadore, OH; daughter Susan Arnold of Knoxville, TN; and Barbara Johnson (Rick) of Lindsay, OK.

Peggy was a faithful member of Foothills Baptist Church in Mountain View where she and her husband attended for 18 years. She retired from the Arkansas Department of Motor Vehicles and was active with the Ozark Folk Center, the Mountain View Art Guild, as well as her loving church. Together with her husband, they sang and yodeled in area churches, the Ozark Folk Center, the Driftwood Barn as well as the town square in Mountain View. They also sang folk songs and gospel songs in area nursing homes and the RV parks. Peggy was not only a wonderful singer, but also played the AutoHarp while singing with her beloved Ron. While Peggy loved music, being an accomplished artist, her passion was putting God's handiwork onto canvas.

To know Peggy was to love her. She leaves behind many friends from Mountain View and all the venues where she was involved. She was kind and encouraging to the end of her earthly life. She is beloved by her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Always the art teacher, Peggy taught art to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren on their visits to Mountain View. Her smile was winsome and her cheerful voice refreshment to everyone she talked with.

Most of all, Peggy loved her Lord Jesus and the church He bought with His precious blood. Her local church family at Foothills Baptist returned her love back to her by ministering to her and her family in their last days. The family would like to express their deep felt thanks to Pastor Don Strait & Kay; Neal & Vicki Grey; Danny & Martha Simmons; Harold and Wanda Osmon; to only name a few of the many loving members from Foothills Baptist that shared their gift of helps to Ron and Peggy.

Funeral services for Mrs. Taylor will be Tuesday, Nov. 24th, 2015 at Foothills Baptist Church, 19335 N Hwy 5 at 10 AM. Calling hours will be from 6 - 8 PM on Monday, Nov.23rd, 2015, also at the church.

Roller Coffman Funeral Home, Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.

Dear Ronald and Family,
Ronald each and everyone are in our prayers. She will be deeply missed by everyone that knew her and expectly everyon one in stone County.
Ms. Peggy was my favorite. I worked withMs. Peggy and Ronald many years ago at this Ozark Folk Center. From the Iron skillet to the pie shop. My daughter Niki (Partee) Ivy got the chance to work with you both as a jig dancer and as a Ozark Rythem Clogger.
