Willa "Sally" Christene Goodwin

of Mountain Home, AR

February 28, 1926 - November 18, 2015

Willa Christene Goodwin, known as Sally, age 89, passed away November 18, 2015. Sally was born to Noah and Lora (McFarland) Shipley on February 28, 1926 in Unionville, Missouri.
Sally grew up as the youngest of four children in the community of Graysville, Missouri and attended school in Unionville, where she graduated with the class of 1943. After graduation she went to work in the aircraft plant in Kansas City during the war. There she met Charles Goodwin whom she married in August 1944. In September of 1944, they moved to California to work. To this union four children were born. In 1964, the family moved to Arkansas to farm and finish raising their children. In California, Sally was a fulltime Mother, but after moving to Arkansas she worked at Baxter Lab until retirement in 1988.
Sally was a wonderful Christian lady. Church attendance was a priority for her and her family. She never missed until her health failed. Sally was a member of East Side Baptist Church and loved having JR Cousins as her Sunday school teacher. Sally was also active in the Eastern Star Lodge.
Sally will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Sally is survived by three sons: Charles Goodwin, Eddie (Suzanne) Goodwin, Elden (Donna) Goodwin, eight grandchildren: Steven Goodwin, Ann (Matt) Martin, Shawn (Darlene) Goodwin, Brian Goodwin, Kevin Decker, Kelly (Beth) Decker, Wendy Bales, and Jason Bentley and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanie Bentley, two brothers, Basil and Berdean Shipley and a sister, Agnes Turney.
Funeral services for Sally will be 2:00 PM Saturday, November 21 at Roller Funeral Home with JR Cousins officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM for the hour prior to the service. Memorial donations may be made in her honor to the Christian Clinic.

Aunt Sally was kind, generous and understanding. Always a kind word. I had many great memories on the horse ranch in east San Jose, her cooking was amazingly good, especially her tuna fish sandwiches. She will be missed and thought about. Peace

My dearest sympathy to all of Sally's Family. I knew her through Eastern Star where she was a committed active member as long as her health permitted. She always showed a kindness to everyone. Have not been able to see her for a long time, but she will always have a special place in my heart. I know where she is right now with a smile no sickness. What more can we ask for our parents than this. May God be with your and give you special comfort as you go through this time of grieving.
