Ethel Shivon (Stipp) Still passed into eternity Saturday, October 24, 2015, in Harrison, at the age of 91. She was born the fourth daughter of Arthur and Minerva (Hill) Stipp January 27, 1924, in Liberty County, Montana. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Oscar Still; three sisters, Blanch Boyer, Ruth Eveland, and Gladys Bonneville; and three sons-in-laws, Hershel Terherst, Frank Fowble, and Charles Smith.

Her parents, she and her younger sister, moved to Boone County, Arkansas in 1940 where she later met and married her husband of 49 years, Oscar Virgil Still, September 18, 1942. Ethel enjoyed gardening, outside work, her church and family. She used her gardening skills, sewed, and also worked a variety of jobs throughout the years to help support and raise her family.

Ethel is survived by her two daughters, Rita (Still) Fowble of Harrison and Sharon (Still) Smith of Batavia, Arkansas; her son and daughter-in-law, James and Ann Still, of Bellefonte, Arkansas; one sister, Mary (Stipp) Rudolph, of Chester, Montana; six grandchildren, Lori Fowble, Donnie Terherst, Sonya (Smith) Bruce, Nathaniel Still, Amanda Still, and Evan Still; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of many other relatives and friends, who celebrate her homecoming into Heaven.


Memorial service was Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at Pine Street Missionary Baptist Church, with Bro. Bobby Williams officiating.

Interment will be in Roscoe Cemetery, Alpena, Arkansas, at a later date.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Roscoe Cemetery Association through Anstaff Bank or to any Hospice organization.
