Mary "Moe" Lucille Alexander

of Harrison, AR

December 11, 1919 - October 16, 2015

Mary Lucille (Moe) Alexander, age 95, went to her Heavenly home Friday, October 16, 2015. She was born December 11, 1919, in Westmoreland, Kansas, the daughter of Lacey and Nina (Yeoman) Moore. Moe was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Morris Moore, David Moore, Francis Moore and John Moore; one sister, Lois Winfrey; her first husband, Gerald C. Fisher; second husband, Paul W. Alexander; and one son, Patrick A. Fisher.

Known to friends and family as Moe, she lived a full wonderful life. Moe traveled and lived in several places here in the United States and abroad before settling in Harrison with her husband and children in 1969. She worked in sales for many years before opening The An Shop where she utilized her talents and passion for antiques and collectibles and operated until retiring at age 79.

As a lifelong Methodist, she was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Harrison where she was involved for over forty years, teaching Sunday school, as an active participant in the Edith Martin Sunday school class, served on the Pastor Parish Relations Committee and in the Edith Martin Circle group. She was also involved as a leader and sponsor of Campfire Girls and Boy Scouts while living in Texas.

She is survived by one daughter, Dale Bishop and husband Mike, of the home; two sons, Mark Fisher and wife Birgit of Cypress, Texas and Lee Fisher and wife Brenda of Harrison; four grandchildren, Stacy Fisher, Eric Fisher, Jacob Fisher and Jeffrey Fisher; and two great-grandchildren, Melaine Polendo and Dexter Fisher.

Moe was an avid Razorback football and basketball fan. She loved her church family and the family pets through the years, most recently a pair of bloodhounds, Buster and Ruby.

The family would like to thank members of First United Methodist Church for the prayers, cards, calls and emails over the past year. We also want to thank Dr. Cathy Clary and the staff at Family Doctors Clinic in Harrison, and special thanks to Hospice House for the kindness and care shown in this difficult time.

Visitation will be Monday October 19, 2015, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home in Harrison.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at 10:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church in Harrison with Pastor David Williams officiating.

Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Eric Fisher, Ryan Bishop, Rick Bishop, Don Bishop, Joel ''Shady'' Brown and Jerry Pinson.

Honorary pallbearers are J. D. Erwin, Carl Bushfield, Claude ''Bud'' Somers, Gary McMahan, Ron Bishop and members of First United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to For-Ever Home Bloodhound Sanctuary, 109 Lil Red Lane, Doyline, LA 71023 www.for-everhomebloodhoundsantuery.com. This is the organization that saved and sent Buster and Ruby, her best buddies and constant companions, to us.

Mike, Dale, Mark, Lee and family,
We are so very sorry for the grief and sorrow you are going through. It was definitely our privilege to get to know Moe and to have her as a part of our family too. She was quite a lady and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Aunt Lucille was my Mother's only sister and she was a great inspiration to me as I was growing up. She was such a classy lady and I have so many loving memories of her. She never forgot our birthday's and she always sent Christmas gifts from whatever country she was living in. She will live in my heart forever and knowing she lived a full meaningful life is a blessing. She loved her children dearly and I'm so glad they were able to care for her in her later years. Dale, you did an outstanding job of looking after your Mother, I know she was grateful. Our sympathy goes out to the rest of our family for her loss. My husband, Glenn, and I will be donating in her honor to the Bloodhound Sanctuary and to the First United Methodist Church in Harrison.
Love you, Aunt Lucille

I wish I could be there. I know how much you and your mom love your dogs. I am a big animal lover too, so I would be happy to donate to the blood hounds organization. Please know you are in my prayers.
