Donald CunninghamI am a Veteran.

August 22, 1967 - September 2, 2015

Don's soul left this earth, at the young age of 48, on September 2, 2015. He was surrounded by family and friends, who had been staying around the clock with him at St. Mary's Hospital in Russellville. He had worked with the Johnson County Sheriff's Department in various capacities for many years doing something that he truly loved doing. He leaves behind his parents, Ken and Freda Lough, of Clarksville. His father, Phillip Cunningham of Anchorage, Alaska; his brothers Leland Cunningham of Yakota, Japan; Geoffrey White of Kansas City, KS and sister, Jennifer White of Anchorage, Alaska.
Don is greatly missed by all of his family and his many close friends. We, as parents, would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for all of your thoughtfulness and prayers. Don joins his most favorite friend and dog, ''Buddy,'' the Bassett Hound in Heaven. We would like to acknowledge all of Don's lifelong friends, both near and far, that showed what true friendship is. We witnessed so much love and support from so many people. It was truly amazing to see what effect he had made in their lives in the short time he was here. In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to the Lamar High School Booster Club, C/O Brett Sampley, 301 Elberta St., Lamar, AR 72846. Don truly loved working with these young people during their sporting events. Donald's visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, September 04, 2015, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville. Mr. Cunningham's funeral service will be at 2:00p.m., Saturday, September 5, 2015, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Robert Boen officiating and Wes Kendrick speaking. Chip Riddle, Jerry Dorney, David Smothers, Jason Daggs, Scott Shelley, Jimmy Dorney, and Geoffrey White will serve as Pallbearers. The Johnson County Sheriff's Office will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home (479) 754-2201. My dearest friend, my tried and true:

We have always been there for one another, regardless of distance. You were a best friend, a brother, a mentor, a guidance counselor, a shoulder, and a comedian all rolled into one. Memories of our long standing friendship flash through my head daily..........I have so many that will forever be embedded in my mind. My favorite ones are when you surprised me at my wedding and when I first introduced you to Brookie. I am so grateful for our visit together this summer, and will treasure the memories always. It's going to be so hard knowing I can't just pick up the phone and hear your voice calling me "darlin" anymore. I know you are at peace. I will miss you forever! We had a wonderful bond you and I, and how lucky I was to have a lifetime friendship with you. You turned out to be a wonderful man with the biggest heart I have ever encountered. You, Todd, and Mike will forever be my angels watching over me. Love you always, dear friend.

Don will truly be missed. He was kind hearted, funny and truly cared about others. I am so thankful that I knew him in high school and shortly after. You never stop missing your true friends. He is one. Someone who stole your heart as soon as you were introduced. He has a special place in my heart and that place will always be there. I know that Don's in heaven making others laugh at his silly jokes. He is a sincere friend and always will be. Love you my friend. I will miss you. Love Shelley

You were around 10 years old the first time I hugged you and you planted yourself in my heart. To be followed by..... Years full of hugs, long drives across Arkansas when you travelled with me on my candy routes, talks that lasted for hours, more hugs, insights to the gentle soul you had , the heart that was always ready to help, and the endearment into my heart that will last forever as I cherish our memories and closeness. You hugs and smiles will be missed but those memories will warm my heart until we meet again. I love you. Barbara

To Freda , Ken and Phil
God welcomed his gentle, loving soul and he walks on streets of gold today. He always knew you loved him.

Thoughts and prayers with the family of such a sweet man. I met Don though my time with the Division of Childen and Family Services as well as the Clarksville School District as their social services worker. We would often visit during court and I will not forget his great smile, blue eyes, and beautiful heart! He was always so friendly and had a way about him that left you smiling. He will be dearly missed by many.

I would like to express my sincere sympathy to Don's family. I had the privilege of working with him when I was the County Clerk. He and Jimmy would visit our office frequently. We (Melanie, Michelle, Jessica and myself) spent several "laughing sessions" with them. He was always a kind and considerate person and extremely dedicated Deputy Sheriff. God Bless your family in this difficult time.

All words seem so inadequate when it comes to how I feel about you, my heart is so heavy. You have taught me things in life that I will carry with me always, our love was a love of such pureness, honesty, unbreakable trust, a love full of respect. Even as my heart is so heavy for you, my heart is so full of joy to know that you finally listened to me and sought out our Heavenly Father and found His beautiful peace that passes all understanding. You are forever in my heart Don
