Richard George Underwood, age 84, of Mountain Home, Arkansas passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015, in Mountain Home. He was born March 13, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois to George Earl and Astrid Naomi (Hansen) Underwood.
Mr. Underwood married Ruth Edna Funk October 13, 1956 in Berwyn, Illinois. He served in the United States Army. He worked for Huen Electric for several years and was a member of IBEW Union Local 461 for 40 years in Aurora, Illinois.
Mr. Underwood is survived by two sons Glenn Underwood and wife Mishal of Ionia, Michigan and Steven Underwood and wife Andrea of Livonia, Michigan, four daughters Ann Hoskins and husband Gary of Newark, Illinois, Linda White and husband Phillip of Phoenix, Arizona, Janet Miller and husband Craig of Waterman, Illinois and Gail VanRavenswaay and husband Timothy of Rockton, Illinois, a sister-in-law Mary Ann Underwood, seventeen grandchildren and a great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Edward and a grandson Elijah.
A visitation will be Friday, September 4, 2015, from 6:00 8:00 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home in Plano, Illinois. A second visitation will be Saturday, September 5, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the Plano Bible Church. Interment will be in Welsh Cemetery in Big Rock, Illinois.
Memorial contributions may be made to Broken Arrow Bible Ranch, 28 Broken Arrow Road, Vanderwagen, New Mexico 87326.
