Delaine Reed, age 80 of Marshall, Arkansas passed from this life on Monday, August 10th, 2015 at Highland Court Rehabilitation and Resident Care Facility in Marshall, Arkansas. She was born in Snowball, Arkansas on June 14th, 1935.
Delaine was a Christian. She was baptized in the Red River near Welcome Home 17 years ago. She worked for over 25 years as a clerk in the Fred's store in Marshall, Arkansas. Delaine was a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed gardening, canning and caring for her family. Her children and family always came first in her life. She will be remembered as a good, honest person who became a friend to those she met.
Delaine is preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Lethea (Newton) Taylor; her birth mother, Ira (Newton) Ford; and one sister, Rosie Ford.
Survivors include her husband of almost 59 years, Ralph Reed of the home; children, Deborah LaValle and husband Vincent of Marshall, Ricky D. Reed and wife Cheryl of Marshall and Tammy Reed Cantrell, also of Marshall; grandchildren, Keri (Levon) Standridge of Marshall, Nick Reed of Mountain Home, Brandt (Kelsey) Reed of Marshall, Chance (Kimberly) LaValle of Marshall and Maegan Cantrell of Conway; great grandchildren, Kolsen and Keeton Reed, Parker and Payzley Standridge, Jaden and Taylor LaValle; and her siblings, Earlee Johnson, Pamela Sue Ford, Houston (Sally) Ford Jr. and Jerry Ford, all of Washington state. Delaine is also survived by a loving family of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends.
Arrangements are by Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, August 16th, 2015 at Chinquapin Cemetery near Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Harley Tuell officiating. Special music will be performed by Harley & LaVonne Tuell, Nick Reed and Brandt Reed.
Pallbearers will be Nick Reed, Brandt Reed, Chance LaValle, Levon Standridge, Kolsen Reed, Keeton Reed, Parker Standridge and Taylor LaValle. Honorary pallbearers will be Vincent LaValle, Darrell Halsted, Paul Ray Halsted, Kenny Halsted, R.C. Rea and Gary Brown.
Sorry to hear of Delaine's passing but we know that she is at peace now. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
