Julia Coleman Cockrill, 88, of Marion, Arkansas died Friday, July 24, 2015 at her home in Marion.
Mrs. Cockrill was born on May 16, 1927 in Marion, to Paul Piper Coleman and Mary Goodwin Coleman.
Mrs. Cockrill was a member of the Marion United Methodist Church where she was Sunday School Secretary. She retired from Arkansas Soil Conversation Service as an administrative clerk, and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Post 5225 Marion and West Memphis V.F.W. She attended Arkansas State University.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul P. Coleman SR. and Mary Goodwin Coleman, a brother, Paul Coleman Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, J. P. Cockrill of Marion a sister, Hazel C. Dickey of Searcy, AR; seven nephews and one niece, three sisters in-law and two brothers-in-law.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM on Monday, July 27, 2015 with services at 11:00 AM at Marion United Methodist Church with burial following at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion.
Memorials may be made to the Building Fund at Marion United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Julie was a special lady to me. I will miss her. My prayers are with you Mr. JP.
