Wilma Lou Hale, 68, of Oak Ridge North, Texas passed away on Monday, June 1, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Wilma was born on February 2, 1947, to the late Lawton and Eloy (Farris) Powell in Timbo, Arkansas. Wilma was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Conway, Arkansas. Wilma was married to the love of her life Leon Hale for 53 years. In 1980 Leon and Wilma moved to Texas where she loved her garden, her home, and most of all loved raising her family. The love of her life was her great-granddaughter, Payten Whitworth, who she and Leon raised as their own child.

Wilma is survived by her husband of 53 years, Leon Hale of the home; two daughters, Tonya Russian and husband, Bernard of Conroe, Texas, and Chastity Hale of the home; two sisters, Gearldine Loudenslager of California, and Jo McCook of Mountain View, Arkansas; one grandson, Joshua Whitworth and one great-granddaughter, Payten Whitworth; as well as a niece, whom she loved like a daughter; Shelia Vallars and her husband, Joseph Villars, and their sons, Joe and Will Villars; along with many other extended family and friends.

Wilma was preceded in death by her son; Tony Hale; parents, Lawton and Eloy (Farris) Powell; sister, Betty Drake, and brother, Alvis Powell.

A visitation will take place on Friday, June 5, 2015, from 6-8PM at Roller Coffman Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2015, 2:00PM at Big Springs Baptist Church in Newnata, Arkansas with Brother Junior Avey officiating. Interment will be at Big Springs Cemetery in Newnata, Arkansas.

Pallbearers are Donald Trammell, Bruce Powell, Josh Whitworth, Joe Villars, Joseph Villars, and Will Villars.
