Kathryn Koehler Schonert

of Ft. Worth, TX

September 6, 1930 - May 29, 2015

Kathryn Schonert, 84, formerly of North Little Rock, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, was lifted into the arms of her Savior on Friday, May 29, 2015.

Kathryn was born September 6, 1930 to Paul and Alma ''Lou'' Koehler in what is now Sherwood, Arkansas. She graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1948, and married fellow Trinity Lutheran Church charter member and soul mate, Billy, on October 19, 1953, welcoming daughter Sheila 10 years later. Billy and Kathryn built their home on family property near her birthplace, adding to it over the years, to reflect their love of church and family. Kathryn was a skilled secretary serving for many years at Trinity Lutheran, before joining the Sherwood mayor's office, retiring in 1992. After her Christian discipleship and many roles at Trinity, Kathryn's passion was her family. Until moving to Fort Worth in 2013, she and Billy traveled there many times by car, plane, or train to be with her 'kids', as well as vacationing with them across the country and to Germany.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Billy Schonert, daughter, Sheila Griffin and husband, Ed; grandchildren, Benjamin and Kristen, all of Fort Worth; brother, P.J. Koehler and wife, Clytice; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 6, at Trinity Lutheran Church, North Little Rock, Arkansas. Internment will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park. Visitation 6 to 7 pm Friday, June 5, at Roller Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd. North Little Rock, AR 72116 (501-791-7400)

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 3802 N. Olive St. North Little Rock, Arkansas 72116.

Our sincere thoughts and prayers to Billy and the entire family. Miss Kathryn and Billy were our neighbors on Koehler, and we attended church together. We have thought of them often since their move to Ft. Worth.
