As a kid growing up in Marshall, I probably went to First Baptist Church as much as I did to my own church, First Methodist Church. It was always such a pleasure to be in the choir when Dorothy was directing and to hear her sing solos. She was quite a musician, as well as being a marvelous mother and grandmother. She will be sorely missed by all that knew her. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to all her family in their time of grief and sadness. My prayers are with all of you!
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
Dorothy was a wonderful neighbor and mentor for me. She was an encourager. She helped me so much with music. I loved to listen to her knowledge of the Bible as she taught. She will be missed.
I will always remember Miss Dorothy leading us in singing at the FBC, Marshall. Each song she sang with such overwhelming, contagious joy....right out of her heart. The words were not just lines in the hymnal, but actual realities from the core of her being. The love of the Lord reached to every heart there. She was a bright spot for me in Searcy County. I will remember her wonderful smile and graciousness and her sincere love of the Lord.
When I think of a list of great ladies, Dorothy Hall would have to be right there at the top. She hired me to work for the Department of Human Services 32 years ago and was such a pleasure to work with before she retired. She had so many talents but the one I enjoyed so much was her gift of telling you stories. She could go to grocery store and tell us about her trip when she came back...it was as entertaining as any TV program. She could make a frozen coke look so good and that little twist with her shoulder couldn't be copied by any other! I could go on and on about all the special things about her.She was such an intelligent, classy lady that was an inspiration to us all. I love you Dorothy and can't wait to hear you in that heavenly choir! Prayers for your family!
Robin
It is hard to accept that this beautiful wonderful friend, mentor and "aunt" is really gone. Although I didn't get to spend much time with her the last few years, I will still miss her. I send my love to "my family" and words really fail me now as I try to write something meaningful to you.
We were sorry to hear of Dorothy's passing. She was a very sweet lady and will be missed by all.
Our prayers are with you.
I am so sorry for your loss. She will be missed by all who knew her. My thoghts and prayers are with each of you.
I have heard about Dorothy Hall all my life. My Gramp owned a grocery store and would have people go talk to Dorothy about getting help. Also, I started my DHS career in Searcy County and the workers there were very fond of Dorothy. They would recount memorable stories about Dorothy and her work. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Dorothy was such an inspiration to all who knew her, and always so positive. This world would be a different place if we all followed in her footsteps. May God comfort you during this time.
