of St. Joe, AR
September 18, 1924 - March 31, 2015
Haskell ''Hack'' Grinder, age 90, of St. Joe, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at Highlands of Harrison at Orendorff. He was born September 18, 1924, at Silver Hill, Searcy County, Arkansas, the son of Robert Andrew and Bessie (Johnson) Grinder. Along with his parents, Hack was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle (Wyatt) Grinder; his sisters, Betty Taylor, Edna Barringer, and Billie Nell Dean; and his brothers, Carmon, Pete, Perry and Ray Grinder.
Hack believed in our Father, God, and His son, Jesus Christ. He was very strong in his Pentecostal faith. Hack married Myrtle Wyatt March 20, 1947, at Pindall, Arkansas. His family was very important to him and very proud of the fact that all of his children had an education. He was a logger; lifetime farmer, and worked at Claridge Products.
His philosophy in life was doing what you say you will do and paying your debts. He did not tolerate dishonesty. Hack helped anyone in need and was a loving, caring, down to earth man. He enjoyed Gospel music, horseback riding, working cattle, trading, 4-wheeling, hunting mushrooms and family get togethers.
Hack is survived by his sons, Jerry Grinder and Rick Grinder, both of St. Joe; his daughters, Kay Millsap of St. Joe and Sue Combs of Bergman, Arkansas; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family.
Graveside funeral service was Friday, April 3, 2015, at Love Cemetery, with Bro. James Smithson officiating.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.
