Paul Douglas Lyons, 56, of Henderson, AR, went to be with the Lord March 14, 2015. He was born September 23, 1958 in Blytheville, AR to the late George and Winnie Hendrickson Lyons.
Paul was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Desert Storm and Persian Gulf Conflicts. He was honorably and medically discharged from the 101st Airborne Division. Paul performed maintenance on the Black Hawk helicopters and was also an Air Assault Instructor. Prior to serving in the military, he was employed as a Faulkner County Sherriff's Deputy for several years. From the time of his retirement, Paul was instrumental in forming the Desert Storm Justice Foundation, which was later renamed. This included lobbing before certain congressional members in Washington D.C. Paul continued until his death constantly doing research and findings related to illness and the death of service members who served during the Gulf Wars. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans organizations. Paul also lent his support to the local chapter of the VFW 3246 in Mountain Home, Arkansas, where he was Senior Vice Officer.
Paul is survived by his wife of 14 years, Tammy Lyons, two sons, Ethan M. Lyons and Jeremiah D. Lyons, daughter, Ashley L. Lyons, two sisters, Nancy Mullins (Ron) of Denton, TX, and Diane Lyons-Cambiano and her finance, Louis Martinez of Fayetteville, AR, two brothers, George (Joey) B. Lyons, Jr. (Pat) of Louisville, TX and Rick Lyons (Faye) of Richardson, CA, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 28th at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway (501) 327-7727, with military honors to follow. Visitation will be from 6:00p.m. to 8:00pm Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Association, P.O. Box 1620, North Little Rock, AR 72115.

paul was a extremely good and dedicated warrior and friend to me and all. i will miss his contributions in all areas and miss his voice thoughts ideas on our radio show warrior connection and our long standing discussions via phone or email. .. our nation has suffered a great lost and it was our leaders who led paul and so many into oblivion. while paul may be gone his efforts shall prevail. i and others are re-dedicating our efforts to get it all fixed as paul tried to do for so long, my heart is broken but our/my efforts not let this happen ever again are going to rock the foundations of the va and dod until they take care of our nation's warriors. i miss Paul but i know God has a new angel.
