Floyd Leroy Inman, age 76, of Green Forest, passed from this life on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks in Fayetteville, AR. He was born April 5, 1938, in Denver, Colorado. He was of the Baptist faith.
His father, Floyd William Inman, and a brother, J. R. Inman preceded him in death.
Floyd was a retired US Army veteran, SFC, having served from 1959 to 1979. He served two tours in Vietnam, 1968-69 and 1971-72 and a total of 8 major combat campaigns. He was awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and 2 Army Commendation Ribbons. He was also retired from civil service serving from 1980 to 2000 in Thornton, Colorado.
Floyd spent his last 10 years on a farm in Carroll County, Arkansas, relaxing and enjoying his pets, his dogs, Goldie and Midnight, and his cats, Whitey and Shadow. His pets were like family to him.
He is survived by two daughters, Serina Rae Emerson and her daughters, Justina, Robyn, and Tavia of Denver Colorado, and Desiree Inman of Indianapolis, Indiana; three sons, Lee Allen Inman of Indiana, Monte Lynn Inman of Pennsylvania, and Wesley Dale Inman of Colorado; three sisters, Dixie Woods, Lillian McCuin, and Bonnie Hayes; and three brothers Wesley Rittenhouse, Randy Inman, Gary Inman and Less Inman.
Funeral service was Friday, February 27, 2015, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home with Rev. Samuel Boyd, volunteer Chaplain with Hospice of the Hills, officiating.
Interment was at Alpena Cemetery.
Pallbearers were friends: Omel Fields, John Putman, Scott Barnard, Chris Barnard, Brady Barnard, and Clinton Woods.
Honorary pallbearers were the staff and volunteers of Hospice of the Hills.
Goodbye Dad. I hope you have peace now.
