Birthell (Pemberton) Stephenson, age 93 of Conway, Arkansas, formerly of Marshall, passed from this life on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Conway Regional Medical Center in Conway, Arkansas. She was born in Marshall, Arkansas on October 17, 1921 to Charles Mansfield Pemberton and Eller (Horton) Pemberton.
Birthell was a member of the Beryl Baptist Church in Vilonia. She was a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed cooking for her family, especially having all the family over for Christmas Eve. Birthell and her husband were the owner/operators of the Rose Motel in Marshall for several years.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 68 years, Hubert Leon (Bruce) Stephenson who passed away in 2005; and three brothers, Devon, J.C. and Wilburlee Pemberton.
Survivors include one son, Billy Charles Stephenson and wife Rose of Conway; two daughters, JoAnn Smith and husband Ardith of Marshall and Janice Massey and husband Marcus of Conway; seven grandchildren, Phil (Terry) Smith of Fayetteville, Jeff (Laura) Smith of Cecil, Steve (Paula) of Marshall, Brock (Josie) Smith of Marshall, Gregory (Danielle) Stephenson of Russellville, David Massey of Conway and Crissy (Larry) Lewis of Vilonia; sixteen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and one brother, Darrell Gene Pemberton and wife Lena of Marshall.
Funeral services for Birthell will be 11:00 AM Friday, February 20, 2015 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Mike Collier officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 AM preceding the service. Burial will be in Sulphur Springs Cemetery near Leslie, Arkansas. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

My sympathy to all of Birthell's family, makes me sad for so many good friends to be passing. I knew all the Pemberton's and liked every one of them.
