George Brownson

of Marshall, AR

April 25, 1933 - February 7, 2015

George ''Mike'' Brownson, age 81 of Marshall, Arkansas passed from this life on Saturday, February 07, 2015 at Ozark Health Medical Center in Clinton, Arkansas. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on April, 25, 1933 to Roy Ezra Brownson and Gail E. (MacFarland) Brownson.

''Mike'' was a man of faith and a patriot to his country to the very end. He believed in truth and justice and understood hard work and sacrifice ''turned the wheels of progress'', not material wealth or politics. He was active in the Optimist Club and was still presently known as a ''Life Member.'' He was president of the Optimist Club and at one time was Lt. Governor for Pacific Central District of Optimist International. He was heavily involved in Boy Scout and Cub Scout related activities. He participated in campouts, sport-related events, as well as drives and fund raisers. He operated for many years as an ''Assistant Scout Master'' to Troop 585 and donated his time and transportation to make sure no one was left out of anything. ''Mike'' was always supportive of any youth-based program that participated in the betterment and achievement of under-privileged youth. He was a college graduate with a degree in history. He spent many years, along with his wife Marian as the owner/operator of a dry-cleaning business. His favorite time was spent with a cup of coffee in his hand, playing a game of solitaire, watching sports or cuddling with his grandchildren. ''Mike'' was the tenderest and gentlest person one could hope to meet. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. His greatness was in his essence not his record, and his wealth and stature was of his gift of giving and love, not just for family and friends; but of all living things.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marian Bronson, and daughters, Dawn Newman and Amanda Brownson.

Survivors include one son, Jason Bronson of Reno, NV; step-children, Kim Hutcheson of Leslie, Keri Corley of Boise, ID, Daniel Corley of Simi Valley, CA and Michael Corley; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Julia Taylor of Ogden, UT; and brothers, Roy Brownson, Jr. of Ogden, UT and Martin Brownson of AZ.

Cremation services by Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas.
There will be no services per Mr. Brownson's request.

I walk this journey called "life," each day hoping to strive and place my feet into the deep impressions you've left ahead of me.

I pray that I someday grow to become spoken of as many others and I can freely speak of you.

Your essence sets the template for all that one could hope for, specifically the achievements of love and humanity.

Rest soundly; until the last day, when you may see our Heavenly Father as you have always grown to expect and wish for; once that time comes.

I Love You Dad.

Eternally,

~J

Precious Mike,
I have never known a man like you, ever in my life. To know you was a beautiful experience, and a pleasure. You lit up a room wherever you went, and you always had a smile on your face, and a compliment for us all. You will be dearly missed. I hope I did you justice, taking care of you these past few years. Though you didn't born me, nor raised me, you grew a special place in my heart forever. Rest in peace. May Abba commence your soul. Love you, Kimi
