Catherine May DeWitt, 70, of Jonesboro, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born November 7, 1944 at Searcy to the late James Edward and Lillian Vernell Hughes Coursey. Catherine was retired from St. Bernards Hospital where she worked in the Nutrition Department. She was of the Baptist belief.
Catherine is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry ''Hank'' DeWitt; a sister; one brother and a stepson.
Survivors include her son, Carl Eudy of Lake City; three daughters, Kitty Gambill, Melissa (Bobby) Bushong, and Charlotte Ray all of Jonesboro; three stepdaughters, Becky Pruitt and Teresa Lueker both of Heber Springs, and Lisa Hann of California; five grandchildren and five step grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren; two sisters, Darlene Blume of Little Rock and Shirley Randel of Batesville; and a brother, Douglas Coursey of Little Rock.
Funeral services will be 1 pm Saturday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Avenue in Jonesboro with visitation beginning at 12:00 pm until the time of service.
Mark Sadler will officiate. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery in Brookland.
Tim Hall, Chris Hall, Michael Ray, Eric Ray, Colton Bushong and Tyler Ray will serve as active pallbearers. Bobby Bushong, Tony Bittle, Ricky Baker and Dallas Pierce will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family requests lasting memorials be sent to either the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
To Kitty and your family: We just learned of your loss and we are so sorry. Please accept our condolences and know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.
I have been blessed in life to have Catherine to shear lifes ups and downs and for her support and a sister in Christ for life. She will always be remembered as a giving and loving Aunt. Who cared and gave of her self and time and alway had our backs. We have lots of sweet memories to shear and cherrish. I will always be thankful for Gods gift to us with the time we had with her. Thank you Lord as we grieve our loss here on earth but not forever. By faith and the word of our Lord and savior we will be together again.
