James ''Jack'' Albert Tucker, 76, of Beebe died on Wednesday, December 31st, 2014. The youngest of five children, Jack was born on May 31, 1938, to Vell and Hettie Tucker of Pencil Bluff, Arkansas.

Jack was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1961-63 at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He had a career that spanned 32-years with Safeway/Harvest Foods grocery stores where he retired in 1989 as an assistant manager. Jack was an avid reader, woodworker and gardener.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Farrell Tucker of Bend, Oregon.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Alice Yount Tucker; daughter, Dr. Jackie Michelle Tucker Reed, grandson, Stephen Tyler Reed (Brittany) and great grandson, Kayden James Reed, all of Beebe; two sisters, Lela Leighton (Victor) of Keller, Texas, and Rhoda Ward of Arlington, Texas; a brother, Bill Tucker (Mary) of Hot Springs, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be at the Roller Drummond chapel, 10900 Interstate 30, Little Rock, Arkansas 72209 (501) 455-5800 at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015.

So so sorry to hear about Jack's death.I speak for so many Safeway employees,that he was the coolest asst.manager you could ever have.he was so much about honesty and hard work,a great family man,a good man.we all enjoyed working under jack,or respectly Mr.tucker.he will be sorely missed. Our hearts and prayers are with you alice and your family.the good old days of Safeway will always be remembered!! May GOD be with all of you!
