of Little Rock, AR
June 8, 1964 - November 18, 2014
Robert Darrell Stevenson, age 50, of Little Rock, left this life on November 18, 2014. Darrell was born June 8, 1964 in Monticello, AR to Dona Stevenson Schulte and the late Robert Kirby Stevenson Jr.
Darrell loved to laugh and make others laugh. His greatest joy was finding humor in life, especially when it came to things like selling his mother's winter vegetables door-to-door or swallowing crawdads for money. He encouraged all of us to look at life with a smile. Darrell was a loving husband, active father, and proud Poppy who enjoyed fishing, golfing, and weekends filled with good food, football, and family. Darrell worked tirelessly and enjoyed a successful career in the pipeline industry. He began this journey at the young age of 16 when he worked summers with his Great-Uncle Hollis. He was most recently employed by Associated Pipeline Company out of Houston, TX. He was mentored throughout his career by Bob Johnston, whom he often referred to as a second father. Darrell loved animals and shared a special bond with his most beloved dogs, Bentley and Sadie.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 21 years whom he loved with endless abandon, Shelly Bradley Stevenson; his daughter and son-in-law, Gabrielle and Mitchell Beavers; two grandchildren, Devin and Annabelle; his mother, Dona Stevenson Schulte; his sister and brother-in-law, Tonya and Chris Werner; niece, Emily; and nephew, Will - all of Little Rock, AR.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 in the chapel of Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, AR 72211, (501)224-8300. The family will receive guests following the service.
Memorials in his name can be made to The Humane Society of Pulaski County, 14600 Colonel Glenn Rd, Little Rock, AR 72210, (501) 227-6166.
Darrell was such an inspiration to so many people of all walks of life. He met everyone with a sincere and caring smile. You could always count on Darrell's true optimism, spirited words of encouragement and a warm hug that only Darrell could provide. God bless Darrell and his entire family and friends.

I had not seen Darrell in years. I remember when Bobby would take Darrell,Parrish Gladden, and myself to Lake Chicot State Park. He would let us drive the truck all over the park and we were all of 13 and 14 years old. Darrell drove off in the ditch one day turning around at the Rangers' Office. The Ranger pulled us out and never asked a question. Those were the fun days. So Sorry for your loss Dona.
We had some fun times when we were kids at Granmaw's house. Sadly that is the only Darrell I knew. I wish I'd known you better when you became the good man that I know you turned out to be. I am shocked that you are gone. Your dad and mom were always so proud of you and Tonya. We didn't stay in contact over the years but you were always in my thoughts. You made me laugh when we were kids and I know you still could have.We will catch up one day. Rest in peace brother.

To the family, Louise & I fully intended to be at the services,on Tuesday.
Saturday night I had a kidney stone attach, still dealing with it, so we will be unable to come. We truly regret it.
Darrell was not just a coworker, he was a great friend, along with
many others things, we shared together. As a coworker in the Pipeline industry, each time we loose a man, with his knowledge, the industry, is lesson, by many decrees.
Darrell shared the same passion for fishing, as I did. I will always remember, the many fishing trips, we did together.
Louise & I had the privilege, to have Darrell live with us a few months.having him there, in our home, gave us. The opportunity
To learn to love him, even more. Darrell was always a perfect genteman , in every way. He loved so much, the home cooked meals, watching the TV sport shows, fellow shipping with us, in the evening, his presence in our home, made us feel that we were providing him, with a family atmosphere, while being away from home.
When the death of a love one, comes so unexpected, we reflect back, and examine our own lives, sometimes doing a self audit, to examine our lives and see if we are doing, everything we can to obey the will of god. God has give us a lot of wonderful promises, in his kingdom, but never reveals, when this life will end. May God wrap his arms around you, providing you with the strength and support, to accept, this great loss.
As we say goodbye, to Darrell, we express our love, kindness
& sympathy to his Wife,Mother. Daughter, and host of many friends. We have lost a great friend and a great American
My prayers are with you and your family.

God took my son November 18, 2014. I was not ready for him to leave, God needed him. In his 50 years, 5 months, 10 days on earth, he did so much for so many. He had a heart bigger than a mountain, he loved everyone and had no enemies.
His legacy will be carried on by those who knew him.
I miss you already, Darrell, but will always know where you are.
