Oliver Ira Green Moon, 93, of Bono, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born February 28, 1921 in Aberdeen MS. He loved to fish, hunt and paint. He was of the Baptist belief.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Justice of the Peace John Oliver Moon and Salle Pearl Franklin Moon; his wife, Vera Estell Moon; four brothers, Homer Lee Moon, Sam Moon, Johnny Moon and Syd Moon; a sister, Mary Lou Moon; four children, Mary Lou Moon, Bobby Wayne Moon, Patricia Louise Bass and Donald Ray Moon; four grandchildren, Harvest Moon, Jason Bailey, Cynthia Moon and Megan Moon.

Survivors include five children, Helen (Russell) McQueen of Bald Knob, Linda (Virgil) Surber of Ashdown; Johnny (Joan) Moon of Ashdown, Billie Pounds of Bono and Tammy (Shannon) Baker of Bono; 18 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren.

Chapel services will be 9 am Saturday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Avenue in Jonesboro. Interment will be at Ashdown Cemetery.

A special love goes out to the girls at Total Life, Lisa Dixon, Melva Jones and K.T. and all the aides that provided for him. You all made a difference in our life.
