Mary Pearl Rogers Davis

September 19, 1919 - November 2, 2014

Mary Pearl Rogers Davis 95, passed away on November 2, at Desert Garden Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Midland, Texas. Pearl was born September 19, 1919 to Verna Leach and Oscar D. Rogers in Garner, Arkansas. She was the youngest of the 4 Rogers' sisters: Oma Shannon, Marie Davis, and Kathryn Van Patten, all having pre-deceased her. Mrs. Davis graduated from Searcy High School. She was married to Ursell Davis, Searcy businessman and owner of Smith-Vaughn Mercantile, deceased. Mrs. Davis was a member of First United Methodist Church and past president of United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Searcy Garden Club and a past president. Other affiliations included the Searcy Golf Club and the women's golf group where she participated in numerous tournaments over many years, White County Memorial Hospital Ladies' auxiliary, American Legion Ladies' auxiliary, and The American Red Cross. Mrs. Davis was also a substitute teacher in the Searcy public schools and a writer for the Arkansas Gazette reporting on news in Searcy and White County.

She is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Martha Summerville and husband, William D. Summerville of Kingwood, Texas, Nancy Patterson and husband, George McCall Patterson of Midland, Texas, grandchildren, Lauren Summerville of Houston, Texas, Lindsey Summerville and wife Tracy of Spring, Texas, Holland Patterson of Spokane, Washington, and Andrew Patterson and wife Amy of Alpine, Texas, and great grandchildren: Athena Patterson, Anna Summerville, Davis Summerville, and McCall Patterson.

Visitation will be held on November 13, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on November 14, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church Pyeatt Chapel. A private burial service will be held at White County Memorial Gardens. Services by Roller-Daniel Funeral Home of Searcy.

In lieu of flowers family requests that donations be made to the First United Methodist Church in Searcy, Arkansas and to the Methodist Children's Home of Arkansas.
