Dave Bartlett, age 82, of Western Grove, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2014 at his residence. He was born December 2, 1931, in Redwell, Arkansas, the son of Marvin and Dorothy (Abbott) Bartlett. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Ray Bartlett; and a sister, Faye Bozeman.

Dave was a member of Western Grove Bible Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired as an assistant manager for Riceland Food in McGehee, Arkansas after 25 years. He volunteered for over 30 years at Church Camp in Conway. He enjoyed doing yard work, watching old westerns on TV, walking and pulling kids in a wagon. Above all else, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, always having a piece of Doublemint available for them.

Mr. Bartlett is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gay Bartlett; two sons, David of Branson, Missouri and Doug (Shelly) of McGehee, Arkansas; two daughters, Debbie (Jeff) Phipps of Charleston, South Carolina and Donna (Tim) Bartlow of Hasty, Arkansas; two brothers, Bobby Joe Bartlett and Russell Bartlett, both of West Plains, Missouri; and one sister, Eunice Burchfield, of McGehee. He is also survived by one grandson, Cameron Bartlett, of McGehee; four granddaughters, Sara (Dustin) Forsythe of Fenton, Iowa, Michele (Josh) Brannon of Bentonville, Arkansas, Kimmie Bartlow of Hasty and Bailey Bartlett of McGehee; one great-grandson, Remington Forsythe; four half-brothers and one half-sister in California.


A memorial service was held Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home with Noel Cwenar officiating.

I am blessed that I had such a kind, wonderful Uncle Dave. I will miss you. You lived a good long life and I remember so many good times with you and your kids, my cousins when we would visit you in McGeehee, AR. Rest In Peace and be with our mighty Lord, till we meet again...on that beautiful shore...
