Rev. Ivan Fletcher, 78, of Alco died October 15, 2014 at his residence. He was born October 18, 1935 to Jack and Elsie Long Fletcher in Alco, Arkansas. He spent most of his adult life in Helena-West Helena, Arkansas. He was a veteran of the US Army Reserve. He was a retired land surveyor as well as an avid Razorbacks and Cardinals fan.
Ordained into the ministry in 1969, he has pastored numerous churches in Phillips and Lee counties and Lula, Mississippi as full-time /interim pastor. He also served as supply/interim pastor in Stone and Van Buren counties. He was recently the Associate Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Timbo.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patsy Keller Fletcher; two sons, Kenny Fletcher and wife Wendy of Coldwater, Mississippi and Darren Fletcher of Helena-West Helena, Arkansas; a daughter, Mindy Hollis and husband Bryan Hollis of Hamburg, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Corey Fletcher, Jackson Fletcher, Sarah Raziano, Jacob and Ashley Hollis, and Chase Fletcher; two great-grandchildren, Christian and Caylee Fletcher.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, EJ Fletcher and a sister, Ovalene Fletcher.
Services will be held Saturday, October 18, 2014, 2:00PM at Calvary Baptist Church in Timbo, Arkansas with Brother Danny Robbins and Brother Doug Stewart officiating. Visitation will be from 1-2PM prior to service. Burial will be at Alco Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Jackson Fletcher, Jacob Hollis, Tommy Hollis, Dale Holmlund, Drew Johnson, and Charles Ferguson. Honorary pallbearers are the men of the Calvary Baptist Church.
Memorials can be made to Gideon's International.
