Patricia Ann Williamson

of Little Rock, AR

March 24, 1947 - August 30, 2014

Patricia Ann Williamson, 67, of Little Rock departed this world August 30, 2014 at Woodland Hills Health and Rehab Center where she was receiving hospice care for terminal cancer. She was born March 24, 1947 as the eldest child of Bernice and Fred Williamson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her divorced husband, Robin Dittmann.

She is survived by brothers, Fred Williamson and Danny Williamson, and her beloved sister, Debbie Williamson. Paternal family members surviving include cousins - Kathy Lovell, Betty Jo Filbert, Bill Williamson, Tonya, and BJ - and aunt, Louise Williamson. On her mother's side she is survived by Karen Bishop and her children, Craig Bishop and his children, and Uncle Ballard.

Patricia thought of her little sister, Debbie, as her precious gift from God. Debbie was ten years younger than Patricia, and she instructed her parents when Debbie was born to leave him at the hospital if the baby was a boy! She shared a special bond with Debbie her whole life.

Patricia was employed as a maid, grocery bagger, and security guard. Before she became ill, Patricia was very active in her church, Quapaw Quarter United Methodist Church, serving as a greeter. She also had a prayer and card ministries, and she enjoyed encouraging Dr. Dan Casey of FCN with prayer. Patricia made bead necklaces, and she loved giving her necklaces away. She graduated from Central High School and stayed in touch with many friends. She never learned to drive, but she knew the bus routes by heart. She knew no strangers and was a friend to all.

Her funeral will be at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Quapaw Quarter United Methodist Church, 1601 S. Louisiana, Little Rock, AR 72206, 501-375-1600, with Rev. Thompson Murray officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, AR 72211, 501-224-8300.

As a member of the Central High School Class of 1965 we are proud of the closeness of our group. Pat was a very giving person. I spent many a nights on the phone with her, she loved to pray, share a scripture and alway sang a song before hanging up. My nieces would meet me and take her to dinner on her birthday and Pat loved meeting with them. Pat loved giving to everyone, she would sent cards, make necklaces to bless someone. If you called about a problem she took it to heart and prayed until God fixed it. I will miss her very much, but I know she is shouting in heaven with no pain or worries. My prayer goes out to her family and to the church she loved. She will be missed but she leaves behind an example to us all-take time to lift up each other. Thanks Pat for all your prayers and kind words. Connie Alford -Central Class of 1965

Pat and I were in homeroom together at Central. She always had that sweet smile on her face. My sister starting going to Quapaw Quarter Methodist. When she found out my sister's last name, she immediately asked if Sheila was related to me. I couldn't believe. She made me one of her necklaces. I was so proud of it. I felt privileged to have her as my friend.

What a special personality Pat had. Never shy to express her feelings & opinions! Even in her last days, concerned about others that she knew were ill. A brave soul she was facing her illness, seemingly unafraid of the road that lay ahead. So glad she was a part of the Little Rock Central High School Class of 1965!

I remember Pat from our high school years at Little Rock Central High School. We were in the same 10th grade art class. Pat had a wonderful smile and was friendly to everyone she met. The last time I saw Pat was during our high school reunion in 2005. I'll never forget her smile when we saw it each other. Pat was a special lady that I'll always remember. I know Pat is smiling in heaven now. My thoughts and prayers are with Pat's family.

The loss of a love one is one of the most difficult situations to face in life. This can be especially trying for the ones left behind who are close members of the family. God's word can help ease some of your pain during this troubling time. John11:35-44 has helped many to see that Jesus hated death. When his friend Lazarus died Jesus wept; after weeping he looked heavenward prayed to his father in heaven, Jehovah God and then brought his friend back to life. Jesus will do the same for your loved one who has died. (John 5:28, 29) Until that day arrive Roman 12:15 encourages us to rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep. May all of your family gain comfort through the scriptures.

My deepest sympathy to the family for your loss. I always called Pat, Patricia and she always corrected me and said to call her Pat. We went to high school together and then in later years, with our dear friend Margaret, we would attend some of the Class of 65's girl's luncheons. You are gone dear friend into the arms of your special angel but will never be forgotten!
