Mr. Dover was a very special person in my life, along with his wife, Alice. We attended the same church and I also worked in the Administration Office of Russellville Schools as an Administrative Ass't. to Mr. Dover for several years, until his retirement. We shared the same office area and I cannot remember one time in all those years where we had any problem in such close surroundings. He was a wonderful "boss", very low-keyed(so am I), understanding, and kind. I send my prayers to Patti and Larry during these days of being without their Dad. The Lord bless you.

Coach Dover was respected and loved by anyone who played for him in RSLV Jr Hi. He was a great influence for young 7th graders in the classroom and a positive role model as a father and teacher. It was always a pleasure and a joy for me to see and talk to him even many years later. He always recognized me as a student of his.

Don was my 9th grade science teacher and my school bus driver. He also worked with my mom at a peach grading/packing shed in Russellville. I never played sports, but he was one of my favorite teachers! Years later my wife and I were members of Harlan Park Baptist Church when it was just a mission, but that was long before Don was associated with it. He was a mentor and kind. God bless the family!

I have been blessed with an abundance of fond memories of your Dad. He was a great role model because his influence was so positive and honest in the way he lived his life. A few of the many memories I cherish of him are teacher, bus driver, coach, school administrator, neighbor, and friend.
I am truly sorry for your loss.

Larry and family,

I'm truly sorry to hear about your dad's passing and pray that God's peace and understanding will surround your family during this time of grief. There's nothing but really great memories of your dad in junior high and high school and I do believe his guidance helped many of us during the years we were around him.

God Bless Coach Dover and his memory. I played basketball for him back in RJHS (1957) days. He was a fair and honorable man in every way. He treated us with dignity and respect, yet pushed and encouraged us to give all we had. I will never forget him. He was a teacher, role model, mentor and coach in the truest sense of the word.

Very sorry to hear of the passing of Coach Dover. He was the first coach I can remember having at Gardner Junior High and I was always impressed with how fast he could run with the ball. He always wanted each player to be the best they could be and I always respected him greatly. My thoughts and prayers are with you Patty and Larry.

Condolences to Patti and Larry and the entire family. Coach Dover was my football coach in the 7th, 8th and 9th grades at GJHS, as well as my civics teacher, and he's one of the finest gentlemen I had the good fortune to study and play under. I visited with Coach about a year ago, and I was amazed at how well he remembered details from our ninth grade season 45 years ago. I am very thankful I had the chance to visit with him then, and I can honestly say that anything I've been able to accomplish over the years is due in no small part to his mentorship and example. Rest in peace, Coach.

I played football for coach Dover until moving to Arkansas City, Kansas in 1959. He was the best coach!! I remember him saying in practice one day "if you are not bleeding your not playing" Keep coaching coach Dover.

There are always several teachers who leave an impact on our lives. Mr. Dover was one of those teachers who served as a role model for me as I pursued my own teaching career at Russellville High School..It was always a pleasure whenever I was fortunate to see him and have a nice a visit which included reminiscing about school days and former teachers and classmates. My sincere condolences to his family who should be very proud of the legacy he left.

The death of a loved one is one of the most devastating experiences a human can face, and all of us no matter where we live may have to endure that dreaded enemy (death). I am deeply sorry for the loss to the Dover family.   What help us to cope are the promises that Jehovah God has provided for us, in his word the bible. 1Cor. 15:26 tells us that the last enemy death will be brought to nothing. And Isaiah 25:8 says: God will swallow up death forever, and that he will wipe the tears from all faces. What a joyful time this will be for mankind, to enjoy our loved ones and never worry about death taking them away from us ever again.
