Zella Victoria (Laffoon) Avey, age 86 of Harriet, Arkansas passed from this life on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She was born in Marion County, Arkansas on March 22, 1928 to George and Carrie (Lack) Laffoon.
Zella lived in Arkansas most of her life, was a restaurant cook, and worked at Flintrock Shirt Factory until her retirement. She dedicated most of her life to serving the Lord. She was married to John Avey and had two children, Sheila and Phillip. Zella was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and an outstanding role model to everyone who knew her.
Her parents, one brother and two nephews precede her in death.
Survivors include her daughter, Sheila Sharp and husband Rick of Muldrow, OK; son, Phillip Avey and wife Sue of Marshall; sister, Linnie Jackson of Cozahome; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Zella will be 2:00 PM, Monday, August 04, 2014 at Rock Creek Assembly of God Church with Bro. James Patterson officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 till 8:00 PM, Sunday, August 03, 2014 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas. Burial will be in Rock Creek Cemetery near Harriet, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Avey, Jackie Taylor, Bob Bolen, Randy Hubbard, Scott Housley and Heath Sharp. Honorary pallbearers will be Blake Avey, Drew Taylor, Trenton Kolb, Taylor Kolb, Clint Kolb, Logan Sandefur, Scott Sharp, Libby Sharp, Sadie Sharp and Audrey Sharp.
At the families' request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rock Creek Assembly of God Church, 3334 W. Highway 14, Harriet, Arkansas, 72639.

I spent a lot of great time with you , Sis, going thru your boxes of jewelry and dressing up. Many nights I did really well until it was bed time and I could only think of my momma, and poppy. And you always made sure I got home. I love you dearly and my heart is broken and crushed for you were my "second momma" and now I know you are no longer there to call, buy groceries for and talk to. I know for a certainty where you are and a great celebration is going on. And I believe this picture you were at your most perfect state and we know what the Bible says about that. I love you and I will see you soon.
