Norman Rodney Richmond, of Alexandria, Louisiana passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014 at Baptist Medical Center of Little Rock, AR. He was born August 9, 1939 in Smackover, Arkansas, son of C.B. Richmond, Jr. and Martha Nugent Richmond.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Pineville, LA. He belonged to many other educational and professional organizations. During his career he was a recipient of the Dunbar Award in the state of Louisiana.
Rodney was a caring and compassionate friend to all who knew him. He was a graduate of Louisiana College and Louisiana State University with a Master of Social Work degree. He retired as Associate Administrator of Pinecrest Developmental Center in Pineville, LA. He continued to work as a licensed clinical social worker for the developmentally disabled. He was an avid LSU sports fan and enjoyed many years of tailgating at LSU.

Rodney is survived by his wife of 45 years, Glenda Sue Collins Richmond of Alexandria, Louisiana. He is also survived by his sister, Inez Richmond Ward (Hal) of Deville, LA, a very special nephew, Charles Stuart of Crestview, FL and his wife Cynthia and their four loving children. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, very special friends, and his buddy, his dog Sweet.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Trudy Lee and his brother Sherman Richmond.

Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, July 28, 2014 at First United Methodist Church in Pineville, LA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at First United Methodist Church in Pineville, LA. Another visitation will be at Simpson Church of God in Simpson, LA from 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m., to accommodate his friends and family at Simpson, his second home. Following will be a committal service and burial at Welcome Cemetery in Simpson, LA.
