Ernest L. Monday, age 88, of Harrison, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014, at his home. He was born August 9, 1925, in Capps, Arkansas, the son of Benjamin P. and Adella (Stacey) Monday. Along with his parents, Ernest was preceded in death by his brothers, Benny, Kenneth, Vernon, Adrain and Everette Monday; two sisters, Lela Cram and Leona McClure; and two infants, Buddy and Ruby.

Ernest attended Capps Full Gospel Church. He was a paratrooper in the U. S. Army. For many years he was employed as an automobile mechanic and operated a wrecker for Hudspeth Motors.

Ernest is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Monday, of the home; his sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Rachel Monday of Houston, Texas, Richard and Beverly Unwer of Huntsville, Arkansas, Robert and Mona Unwer of Maumelle, Arkansas, and Bill Unwer of Harrison; his daughters and son-in-law, Lynda and Frank Villines and Lisa Moore, all of Harrison; and his sister, Beatrice Thompson, of Montana.

Ernest is also survived by ten grandchildren, Holly, Nathan, Seth, Jonathan, Sarah, Amy, Teresa, Robin, Kevin and Cody; several nieces and nephews; and a host of dear friends.



Visitation was Monday, April 21, 2014, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.

Funeral service was Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, with Pastor Eddie Reed officiating.

Interment was in Maplewood Cemetery.
