Virginia Frances Askey, age 87, of Harrison, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Bristol Pointe Nursing and Rehab in Harrison. She was born March 28, 1926, in Savannah, Missouri, the daughter of Harold and Iva (Bishop) Wilson. Along with her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, James Askey.
Virginia is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Wanda Young, of Salina, Oklahoma; her daughter and son-in-law, Victoria and Jim Wessels, of Harrison; her step-son and his wife, James and Susan Askey, Jr., of Pueblo, Colorado; her step-daughter and her husband, Cathy and Mel Nix, of San Antonio, Texas; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; and many friends.
Memorial service is 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Shiloh Baptist Church, Harrison, with Bro. Royce Sweatman officiating.

Our sympathy, love and prayers go out to all of her family. Jenny was happily married to my dad, Jim Askey for over 30 years. She was a joyful addition to our lives. We have such wonderful memories of golfing in Colorado, family cookouts and sharing their RVing travels. She was a wonderful step-mom to us. She listened with her heart and shared so much of herself with our family. She will be missed so very much by us and all who loved her. God now has a wonderful new Angel and Star in the sky.
