Mr. Alvin John Augustine, age 76 of Mountain Home, passed away Monday, March 24, 2014 at Baxter Regional Medical Center. Alvin Augustine was born March 14, 1938 in Ellis, Kansas to Rudolph and Regina (Reitmeyer) Augustine. He married MaryAnn Barfoot on April 24, 2000 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. He was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church and the Twin Lakes Gun Club. Mr. Augustine started work for Baxter Lab in Hays, Kansas later transferring to the lab in Mountain Home, Arkansas and retiring after 32 years.
Mr. Alvin John Augustine is survived by his wife MaryAnn Augustine, two sisters; Irene Normandin (Louie) of Hays, Kansas, Betty Weber (Bob) of Ellis, Kansas, six brothers; Gilbert Augustine (Janet) of Ellis, Kansas, Virgil Augustine (Ann) of Ellis, Kansas, Arnold Augustine (Marilyn) of Hays, Kansas, Richard Augustine (Dorothy) of Hays, Kansas, Rudolph Augustine of Hill City, Kansas, Darrell Augustine of Lawrence, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Shirley Leikam.
Visitation will be Friday, 12-9PM with family receiving friends from 6-8PM. A vigil service will be at 7:00PM at the Funeral Home. A Funeral service will be in Ellis, Kansas under the direction of Keithley Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Mountain Home Food Basket, St. Jude Children's Hospital, or the Humane Society of North Central Arkansas.
You will be missed. Worked with you at the Humane Society but also was with you as hostess on many bus trips. Have said a prayer for you and hope you are resting in the Lord's arms today.
Worked with Alvin at Travenol Labs in Hays, Kansas. He was a very kind and likeable person. I know he will be missed.
We have lost another peaceful man.

Alvin was a part of my Life for a short time. In that time it was such a pleasure to have his peaceful presence.
