Gladys I. Chitwood, 92, of Mountain View, Arkansas passed away on February 2, 2014 in Batesville, Arkansas. Gladys was born on September 27, 1921 to Floyd and Martha (Burns) McCarn. She was a homemaker who was loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Hall and husband Lonnie of House Springs, Missouri; one brother, Alvin McCarn of Mountain View, Arkansas; one son-in-law, Bill Terwilliger, and numerous nieces and nephews, including one nephew, Donald Ray Barham of Mountain View, Arkansas who was instrumental in her care for the last several years; three grandchildren, Susan Carpenter and husband Todd of San Diego, California, Kim Vance and husband Dennis of House Springs, Missouri, Chris Hall and wife Mandi of House Springs, Missouri, as well as seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Martha (Burns) McCarn; husband Herman Chitwood; brother, Ervin McCarn, and daughter, Doris Jean Terwilliger.
A visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, from 6-8PM at Roller Crouch Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2014, beginning at 10:00AM also at Roller Crouch Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas. Brother Gary Don Fletcher is officiating. Interment will take place at Mount Joy Cemetery in Pleasant Grove, Arkansas.
Pallbearers are William Lynn Stroud, Glen Criswell, Herman Turner, Donald Gene Turner, John Barham, and Donald Chitwood.
